    This saying is so true for me. With all the trials and tribulations we each have to endure to just get through our days, I tend to let the struggles sit with me and conduct my mannerisms of thoughts. You know the kind that keep eating at you and making you sulk or make your blood boil because the day didn't quite turn out the way you thought it would when you woke up this morning.

    But when I release that energy of frustrations, those draining thoughts that want to suck the life right out of me, I banish them.

    How does one banish such thoughts?

    Well, for me it can be the simplest of thoughts, such as, looking at photos that are staring at me while I am even typing this blog. Right at this moment, I see the photo taken of my son and I together just a few weeks ago. It's his birthday and we had a wonderful day in Charleston. What a cherished thought of being with him on his special day. I can hear the laughter, feel the sun beating down on us as we toured the harbor of the Cooper River with the breeze blowing off the channel. He's telling me his future plans and I can see the excitement in his eyes and hear the joy in his voice of the choice he's made to move to another state to seek out a new life venture for himself.

    Or, I look down beside me and see my muttley of a mixed breed dog, D.O.G., and he's sprawled out on the cool floor next to my chair and I remember the day that I picked him up from the local animal shelter and remember how tiny and sick this now 40 pound dog was just last October. He's my best friend and he knows it. He was a special birthday gift from my husband who is 1200 miles away.

    I sit here and I can hear the gentle breeze blowing across the tubular metal wind chimes and it's singing a lullaby from outside. Aaaahhhhh..........see, the quality of my thoughts are now changed. I'm not all tensed up, I'm not frustrated, I'm not discouraged, but I did the change....I changed the quality of my thoughts. And the laborious ones, the ones that suck the life right out of me........well, they no longer exist.
